Panchak is the time the moon takes to pass through the last five nakshatras: the second half of Dhanishtha, Shatabhisha, Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada and Revati. It comes once a month and lasts about five days.

Some families avoid starting certain work during Panchak; follow your own Sangh's or elders' practice. The panchang marks Panchak days with પં, with the start and end times.
