Shri Padmaprabh Swami: life and stories

In a former life he was a king in Mahavideh who took diksha and, through the aradhana of the twenty sthanak, bound the Tirthankar naam karma. He was then born as a dev in the higher heavens.
On Posh Vad 6 his soul came into the womb of Queen Susima, wife of King Dhar of Kaushambi, and she saw the fourteen great dreams.
While the Prabhu was in the womb, Queen Susima longed to lie on a bed of red lotuses (padma), and the child was born with a glow (prabha) like a red lotus. So he was named Padmaprabh. His chinh is the red lotus, and his images are red in colour.
He was born on Aso Vad 12, and the Indras celebrated the janmabhishek on Meru. He ruled Kaushambi as a just king.
After a year of varshidaan he took diksha on Aso Vad 13, the day after his birth tithi, with a thousand kings. He attained kevalgyan on Chaitra Sud 11, the same tithi as Sumatinath Bhagwan before him, and the fourfold sangh was set up.
On Kartak Vad 11 Padmaprabh Swami attained nirvan on Sammet Shikhar.
