પરિચયAbout

Bound by karma, the soul wanders in sansar through four gatis and 84 lakh yoni, until it frees itself and reaches moksha.

ચાર ગતિThe four gatis

Dev gati: the devs of the four kinds, in the urdhva lok, the sky of the madhya lok and the upper adho lok. Manushya gati: humans, only in the Adhai dweep. Tiryanch gati: animals, birds, insects and plants, and the earth, water, fire and air bodied beings, found throughout the lok. Narak gati: the seven bhumis of the adho lok.

મનુષ્ય ભવ કેમ દુર્લભWhy a human birth is precious

Devs have comfort and narak jeev have pain, but only a human can take up full charitra, destroy all karma and attain moksha. That is why the manushya bhav is called rare, and why it should not be wasted.

સ્વસ્તિકThe swastik

When we draw the swastik with akshat in the derasar, its four arms are the four gatis; the three heaps above are gyan, darshan and charitra; and the crescent with a dot at the top is Siddhashila. It is a prayer: through the three jewels, may I cross the four gatis and reach moksha.
