દ્વીપ-સમુદ્રનાં વલયRings of dweep and samudra
The madhya lok is a thin layer at the waist of the lok. At its centre is the round Jambudweep; around it lies the Lavan samudra, then Dhatkikhand dweep, the Kalodadhi samudra, Pushkarvar dweep, and so on: countless rings, each twice as wide as the one inside it, ending with the Swayambhuraman samudra.
જંબૂદ્વીપ અને મેરુJambudweep and Meru
Jambudweep is 1 lakh yojan across. At its centre stands Meru parvat, 1 lakh yojan tall, 99,000 above the ground and 1,000 below; the janmabhishek of every Tirthankar is done on Meru by the Indras.
સાત ક્ષેત્ર, છ પર્વતSeven kshetras, six mountains
Six mountain ranges running east to west divide Jambudweep into seven kshetras. From south to north: Bharat, Haimvat, Harivarsh, Mahavideh around Meru, Ramyak, Hairanyavat and Airavat. We live in the Bharat kshetra, in the south.
અઢી દ્વીપAdhai dweep
Jambudweep, Dhatkikhand and the inner half of Pushkarvar dweep, up to the Manushottar mountain, make the Adhai dweep, 45 lakh yojan across. Humans live only here. It has 15 karmabhumi, 5 Bharat, 5 Airavat and 5 Mahavideh, the only lands from which a soul can attain moksha.
મહાવિદેહMahavideh
In Mahavideh time is always like the fourth ara, so Tirthankars are always present there. Today the 20 Viharman, among them Shri Simandhar Swami, give deshna there.
સૂર્ય અને ચંદ્રThe sun and the moon
The jyotishk devs, the suns, moons, grahas, nakshatras and stars, move round Meru within the Adhai dweep; Jambudweep has two suns and two moons. Beyond the Adhai dweep they stand still.
