Shri Abhinandan Swami: life and stories

The tradition tells that in a former life he was King Mahabal in Mahavideh. Seeing that power and pleasure pass away, he took diksha, practised deep tap and the aradhana of the twenty sthanak, and bound the Tirthankar naam karma. He was then born as a dev in an anuttar viman.
On Vaishakh Sud 4 his soul came into the womb of Queen Siddhartha, wife of King Samvar of Ayodhya, and she saw the fourteen great dreams. Ten lakh crore sagaropam had passed since Sambhavnath Bhagwan.
From the day the Prabhu came into the womb, joy spread through the kingdom and Indra came again and again to praise him. Abhinandan means "one who is greeted with joy", and so he was named. His chinh is the monkey.
He was born on Maha Sud 2, and the Indras celebrated the janmabhishek on Meru. He married and ruled Ayodhya for a long time as a just and gentle king.
After the Lokantik devs came to request him and a year of varshidaan, he took diksha on Maha Sud 12 with a thousand kings.
After years of silent sadhana he attained kevalgyan on Posh Sud 14. The devs built the samavasaran and the fourfold sangh was set up.
On Vaishakh Sud 8 Abhinandan Swami attained nirvan on Sammet Shikhar with a thousand munis.
